Web Content Manager
The Web Content Manager will focus on making us the most popular destination for an audience looking to explore and engage on all things travel related. You will develop a strategy for all online content to ensure that the overall message of the various brands is clear on each site. As a content strategist, you are someone who understands how positioning and content packaging can grow traffic. You will be responsible for maintaining a well-rounded editorial calendar, tracking and responding to click-throughs, developing features and tools, and driving users to key content areas. You will have a strong knowledge of SEO & SEM.



Top priorities for you in this role will include creating unique content for each site giving it its own unique identity, developing a multisite strategy for social media and increasing unique and repeat visits as well as time spent on site across the key brands.


You will be passionate about social media on a personal level and make use of all common and less common forms of social media; either blog yourself and/or subscribe to key travel and other related blogs; have a strong network of relevant contacts in the social media space, enabling you to keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in this area.



You will have journalism roots and a marketer’s sensibilities. The role requires a sophisticated combination of travel experience, good writing skills, and analytics-based decision-making . You are a 21st Century journalist.



The role will report to the VP of Online Marketing and will manage the content team which consists of Site Editors, Asst. Editors and Content Writers.



Responsibilities

◦Champions the vision for WRI websites, including business goals, user experience, strategy and functionality.
◦Develop, maintain and share editorial calendar for all company websites. ◦Develop and evangelize language standards across the company to ensure high quality and consistency.
◦Work closely with cross functional departments to understand user needs and represent the voice of the user through your work.
◦Drive audience to high-priority content - Constantly look for ways to improve user experience ◦Effectively integrate content into experiences from multiple sources for multiple uses, including team-created, user-generated, offline branding, and advertising partners and 3rd party vendors
◦Ensure all content team deliverables meet standards of quality, measured in terms of usability, consistency, business metrics, and efficiencies of production and localisation.◦Working with third party providers ensuring that all localized content retains the website tone and voice.
◦Work with the Product Team to drive the localization of our websites. ◦Act as the social media strategist, ensuring the best possible strategy is integrated into our sites, by leading the activation of social media campaigns – you will need to have an excellent understanding of content creation, content seeding, driving user numbers across different platforms, engaging bloggers and forums (crossing into online PR), web 2.0 platforms, how to gain high search engine positioning through a social media strategy, benchmarking KPI’s and much more, on which we are sure you will educate us. ◦To that end, build up your network of the best industry suppliers and freelancers to help deliver our social media campaigns. ◦Keep abreast of all trends, new technologies, formats and platforms, rules & regulations etc. within the world of social media and ensure we are kept up to date on all opportunities and that we are at the cutting edge of all innovations in the social media space◦Keep the team informed of industry trends, best practices, comparative & competitive reviews and evolving approaches◦Able to critique other creative work, offering direction for improving quality, consistency or strategy
◦Build and lead a team of editors and content specialists working for each individual web site.Requirements



◦8+ years related experience working within an organisation with multiple web sites.◦Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, expertise in creating voice and style guides, and tailoring content to appropriate audience segments.◦Overseeing the production of localized content in international markets◦Experience in working across various social media tools and functionality
◦Excellent attention to detail◦Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously◦Demonstrated leadership skills and an ability to discuss strategic options at the executive level◦Excellent team working, communications and influencing skills with an ability to gain the confidence of colleagues
◦Passion for all things online and a love of travel would be beneficial
