The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Senior User Experience Designer who is passionate about conceptualising high-level ideas and as well as tactical UI design and implementation
Create and rationalise user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback and usability findings
Design and conduct usability testing using the full suite of UI tools and techniques
Utilise business requirements and market research to assist in developing use cases
Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups and prototypes
Present design work to executives and other departments for feedback and review
Work collaboratively, alongside the product management, development and design teams, offering and sharing your knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies
You will be responsible for creating the user interface of our key consumer sites and projects, ranging from vague to well-defined, simple to complex, implementation to innovation
Solving problems creatively and coming up with a variety of solutions is one of your strengths. You will be working hand in hand with product managers and web developers to bring product ideas to life
As the Senior member of the design team, you will be contributing to a range of design challenges, including usability testing, information architecture, interaction design and visual design
You will define and implement design criteria, guidelines, and specs; illustrate experience with industry standards and corporate visual design guidelines
Your design expertise will allow you to effectively communicate, incorporate feedback and get buy-in on proposed solutions from key stakeholders
You will Identify and lead process improvements that make the UED team more efficient and effective
Evangelise the role of user experience design across the company
The Candidate
8+ years of experience as a UED Designer with a focus on online consumer-facing products and eCommerce
Bachelor's or higher degree in graphic design, or visual communication
Knowledge in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe (Photoshop & Illustrator) and Macromedia products (Fireworks, Flash and Dreamweaver), and excellent skills in hand coding HTML in a text editor.
A thorough understanding of user interface design and usability principles
Strong online portfolio available for viewing
Proven ability to set the design direction for your projects and to collaborate & lead with other designers
Ability to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast-paced, iterative design and development environment
Self-motivated, able to solve problems and deliver results
Process oriented, conceptually driven, and able work collaboratively in a technical setting
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively articulate design ideas
