Technical Project Manager
The Technical Project Manager plays a critical role in the planning, scheduling, monitoring and execution of projects carried out by the IT team in support of business objectives. The primary job responsibilities of the role are to thoroughly understand the scope, schedule, budget, and conditions of satisfaction for a project, while scheduling resources, monitoring task completion on a day to day basis and managing the business’s expectations to ensure the project delivers to the agreed upon scope within its budget and time constraints. The project manager is expected to interface within both IT and business to ensure that the appropriate processes are followed and deliverables produced. Excellent oral/written communication skills, multitasking capabilities, and system development lifecycle knowledge (agile) will be needed to excel in this position.

Main duties

Responsible for developing and managing the project plan and working with business and project teams to execute on plans
Monitor day-to-day activities of the project and ensure work is progressing as planned.
Ensure that all technical resources on the projects are utilised on project work at all times.
Manage schedules, budgets and overall project organisation to ensure requirements and project deliverable dates are clearly communicated, understood and executed upon.​
Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritise all deliverables and resources working across project(s) based on scope of work and project goals.
Provides leadership, manages, drives and documents timely completion and management of project deliverables.
Actively monitor project risks and scope creep to foresee/​identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address them in advance
Monitoring progress against the scope, schedule, and budget parameters, representing projects at project review meetings, and briefing senior management as necessary.
Ensuring that internal IT processes relative to development and testing are followed.
Develop and publish a project status report, issues/risks and schedule updates on a weekly or biweekly basis.
Assigns and monitors work of technical personnel while also providing support and interpretation of instructions, requirements and delivery objectives; takes the lead role in organising inter-departmental meetings to resolve issues and drive cross-functional issues to closure

A demonstrated history of delivering complex projects from concept to production.
The ability to coordinate the efforts of people from various departments into a coordinated project effort.
Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership for wide-ranging responsibilities
Superb organisation and prioritisation skills
Ability to perform under deadline pressure with grace
Persistence, resourcefulness, drive and ability to work proactively
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desire to contribute meaningfully to the team
Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility to accommodate different situations and requirements
Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of substantial technology experience in a services/web company with a minimum of 4 being in a project management role.
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
Recognised Project Management qualification
Significant online experience with companies recognised for their online experience is desired
Experience managing teams to deliver software implementations
Must possess exceptional leadership, people management, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans
Experience of working in a fast moving environment and the ability to handle various tasks at once.
